Trond Stalsberg Mydland is educated as a social anthropologist and works as a researcher and fellow at Agderforskning and as a lecturer at The University of Agder. He has, for the past seven years, worked primarily with research and teaching in the fields of employment and welfare. His core areas of interest are: communication, the construction of meaning and development of knowledge about the relationship between service providers and service recipients in the public sector, researcher’s roll in facilitating knowledge development outside academia, and client participation based on democratic principles.
